Summer 2003
Dear Partners,
It's a hot summer day here in France and everyone's out riding their bikes. We're right in the middle of Tour De France and so everyone is in their biking outfits pretending they are in the race.
(Go Armstrong!) Well, we wanted to fill you in on what's going on in our race here.
Over the past few months we have sought God for direction and believe we're to be here another school year. We have gotten news that we can stay in our house until next June. We continue to see fruit from being here. Besides ministering in our home church and the bible school, we are invited at least once a month to other churches to minister. A couple weeks ago John ministered at a church, 6 came forward to be filled with the Holy Spirit and 6, left speaking in tongues. We always love seeing that miracle. Also, John met with a couple this week, who had some questions about God. Before they left, they prayed to receive Jesus, they are so excited and we certainly are too. Her mother has been a pillar in the church since the beginning. She's been standing for her family for along time, of course we love to see that miracle also. Now they have asked John to perform their wedding in August.
Being used of God has a lot to do with just obeying what God says do and being at the right place at the right time. This has been the right place for us. It has also been a good move for us personally, we have all been stretched and have grown in our relationship with the Father.
Recently, We have had some challenges in our finances and in praying about what to do we felt like we're to make our needs known to you. We haven't had to talk to you about money a lot since we began, our
finances really have been pretty steady from the beginning. Up to now we've been able to pay all our bills and just about break even every month. Though our income has been steady, the dollar hasn't, the drop
in the dollar has cut our support a little over 25 percent. It works out to about a $500.00 drop in income which has really started to catch up with us. We've had to drop our health insurance (which was $1800.00 per year) because we are unable to make the payments. Our utility bills come in big lump sums throughout the year and they are all coming in now. Plus we've had to do some engine work on our van and we still need to purchase some home school materials. Anyway, we have just been hit with a lot all at once. God is faithful and we trust Him. Believe God with us for wisdom and favor and increase as we follow His plan. We thank you all so much for your love, support and prayers. We know you do it as unto Him and your reward is with Him.
The whole family will be staying in France this summer and are planning on a trip back to the States next summer. We all look forward to seeing many of you then. John leaves this week to minister 3 different times in Scotland. We believe it will be a fruitful trip. We all say "bonne vacance" and send lots of hello's!
