What was the passion that drove Jesus to the Cross? After Jesus cried out"

The veil that separated God's people from His presence was torn in two. Through Jesus, God has made a way for man to come back into relationship and fellowship with Him. In the old covenant the presence of God dwelt in the Temple. God still dwells in the Temple but under the new covenant, he has just changed where His temple is... 2 Cor 6 shows us just how much God wants to be a part of our lives... He can't get much more committed than desiring to live in us.

James 4 says "Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, "The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously"? Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you." Notice all these terms have to do with relationship? Friendship, enemy, drawing near, jealously. Can you hear God's heart? He wants to fellowship with us. In these scriptures we can see that one way we respond to God is through holiness... Holiness is simply acting like God , and resisting those things that are contrary to His nature. He said we can't pursue Him and the world at the same time. Holiness is not prideful or legalistic, but is simply saying "God if your not into this I don't want any part of it. I want to pursue You."

It seems as God has challenged me in everything I teach to come from the perspective of relationship. Right now in our night school were are teaching on Evangelism and Redemption. The goal of the Gospel is to restore man back into relationship and fellowship with God. This is why Jesus went to the cross and this is our message to the world!
